Ascophyllum nodosum is a species of seaweed that can help to keep your pets teeth clean and reduce bad breath.
The ongoing ingestion of Ascophyllum nodosum at the recommended dosages has been proven to treat:
Cats and small dogs (up to 10kg) 1/16 to 1/8 teaspoon daily (1 to 2 pinches daily)
Medium dogs (10kg to 25kg) 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon daily
Large dogs (over 25kg) 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon daily
DO NOT GIVE TO ANIMALS WITH THYROID PROBLEMS UNLESS UNDER VETERINARY SUPERVISION
To give to your pet, sprinkle onto or mix in with their food. If you cook their food add the product in afterwards, immediately before serving.

Can Ascophyllum nodosum be safely given to pregnant and nursing animals? No. Ascophyllum nodosum has yet to be tested on pregnant and nursing animals.
How long until results become noticeable? Whilst most pet owners see an improvement within a few weeks, results will vary depending on severity and dosage and may take up to 12 weeks to become noticeable.
Is Ascophyllum nodosum harmful to my garden or the environment? No. Residual product excreted by animals is not harmful to gardens, nor is the seaweed damaging to the environment if introduced into waterways.
My pet does not like the taste any suggestions? In our experience, dogs are not usually bothered by the product being added to their food. Cats, however, can sometimes be a bit fussy. Some suggestions are; Reduce the dosage Start by introducing a very small quantity of the product, gradually increasing the amount up to the recommended dosage Hide the Ascophyllum nodosumina small amount of lactose free yoghurt, chicken stock, gravy, margarine or peanut butter For cats, try mixing the Ascophyllum nodosum with Brewers Yeast before adding to the cats food Why must I consult my veterinarian before using this product if my pet has thyroid problems? Seaweed is naturally high in iodine, a mineral which affects the thyroid. Seek veterinary advice beforehand if you would like to give your animal Ascophyllum nodosum.
Can my pet eat seaweed if they are allergic to seafood?
As seaweed is the natural habitat of many fish and shellfish, there may be traces of marine life in any seaweed product. If your pet has a serious fish or shellfish allergy, they should not be allowed to consume any seaweed products including Simply Seaweed. Pets that are intolerant of seaweed or algae derivatives should also refrain from consuming seaweed products including Simply Seaweed. It is important to understand the difference between a food intolerance and a food allergy. Whilst they can share many clinical signs, food intolerances are usually less severe and limited to digestive issues. An intolerance is a chemical reaction that occurs within the body, whereas an allergy is an immune system response. A serious allergy can affect the nervous system and result in a life threatening situation.
What is the difference between seaweed and kelp?
Kelp is a type of seaweed, that is big and brown.

Discount Pet Meds uses Australia Post as their courier partner, with two shipping options to select from at checkout:
Express Post the fastest choice
Standard Post the most economical (normally 2 days behind express post)

Do I need to stay home to receive my parcel?
All parcels will be delivered to the provided address and will require a signature on receipt, It is recommended to provide a work address for delivery if no one is home during business hours. If no one home, a card will be left detailing the nearest Australia Post outlet where the parcel can be collected during normal business hours.
Authority to Leave (ATL): Although we do not recommend leaving orders unattended when not home to accept delivery, you may request this service with any delivery. You may do this by placing a brief note, such as Please leave order if not home', in the order comments section found on our checkout page.
Australia Post (Safe Drop): Tracking notifications now provide you the possibility of Safe Drop where the order will be left in the Safe Drop location specified unless, in the judgement of the carrier, it is exposed to passers-by or the weather, in which the parcel will be carded for a Post Office collection
What if my order got delayed, lost, stolen or damaged?
Shipping insurance will allow you to be compensated in case of lost, damaged, or delayed delivery. If shipping insurance is not chosen, we will not be able to offer any further assistance if your order is lost or subsequently goes missing after it has been deemed delivered by the carrier. The associated risk in leaving parcels unattended is borne by the customer.
Refrigerated items: when you purchace a cold chain product, you accept the rare chance that goods will not be delivered in an ideal condition and that no compensation will be offered to replace spoilt goods, even if insurance cover is chosen.
How do you ship refrigerated items?

How do I track my order?
With email and SMS tracking notifications, you will get peace of mind to track and choose delivery options. You will be given a tracking number and the date your parcel is expected to be delivered, as well as the chance to choose how and where you like to receive it.
What if I want to Pick up my order?
Pick up is available from our store. Please select “Pickup option" at the checkout. We will contact you once your order has been assembled and is ready for collection.

Can I refund medication after collection?
We can dispose your unwanted medication, but we can’t refund it. Once a prescription item leaves our pharmacy, by law they cannot be resold. As such, refunds are not possible.
