Return Policy

Returns & Refunds Policy

Important: With the exception of returns made because of mistakes made by Discount Pet Meds (for example, an incorrect item sent or a faulty/non‑conforming product), prescription medicines cannot be returned under any circumstances.

Prescription Medication – Strictly Non‑Returnable

Prescription medicines, over‑the‑counter medicines, compounded medications, and any products intended to be taken orally are strictly non‑returnable. Once a medicine leaves our pharmacy’s control, it cannot be accepted back, refunded, exchanged, or credited, even if unopened, including in the event of your pet’s passing, a change in treatment, or unused quantities . This is because storage conditions and product integrity can no longer be guaranteed, and re‑supply is prohibited under NSW requirements.

All prescription medication sales are final.

If We Made a Mistake

If your order contains an error on our part (e.g., wrong item, wrong strength, or a damaged/defective item), please contact us within 7 days of the package being delivered by Australia Post. We will confirm eligibility and arrange a remedy. For approved cases, we will cover reasonable return postage, waive any processing fees, and provide either a replacement or a full refund (including your original shipping charge) once the item is received back and assessed.

Non‑Prescription Returns (Change of Mind / Unwanted)

If there is an issue with your order, or you would like to request a return for a non‑prescription product, you must contact us within 7 days of the package being delivered by Australia Post so we can confirm eligibility before you send anything back.

Once approved, goods must be received by us within 7 business days of approval and be in new, unopened condition with all seals intact. Items that are opened, used, damaged, or soiled will not be accepted and will be returned at the customer’s expense.

Refunds for Approved Returns

For any approved non‑prescription return, refunds are processed to the original payment method less the cost of the original shipping, less the cost of return shipping, and a $5.99 processing fee. These deductions do not apply where the return is the result of our error (see “If We Made a Mistake”).

Non‑Returnable Items (in addition to prescription medicines)

The following categories are also non‑returnable: vitamin supplements and sale/clearance items.

Packaging, Transit & C.O.D.

Customers are responsible for return postage on change‑of‑mind/non‑prescription returns. Discount Pet Meds accepts no responsibility for loss or damage during return transit. Please ensure items are securely packaged; returns that arrive damaged or inadequately packaged may incur a $25.00 re‑packing fee prior to being returned to you. We cannot accept C.O.D. returns under any circumstances.

Assessment of Returned Goods

All returned goods are inspected upon arrival. If items are not in acceptable, unopened condition (as applicable), an exchange or refund will be refused and the item may be returned to you at your expense.
