Gudair® is Australia's only vaccine for the control of ovine Johne’s disease (OJD).
It contains inactivated (killed) Mycobacterium paratuberculosis strain 316F and when combined with the adjuvant offers protection against the development of clinical OJD and a reduction in faecal shedding of the organism in sheep.
  • KEY BENEFITS

    A single 1 mL dose provides protection for life.
    Following whole flock vaccination, producers should see:
    • Significant decrease in the number of clinically affected animals over time
    • Decrease in the number of mortalities associated with OJD
    • Gradual decrease in the prevalence of infection within the flock
    • Notable decrease in faecal M.paratuberculosis shedding.
    Inactivated (killed) vaccine and will not introduce the disease into the flock.

    RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

    • Active immunisation for the control of ovine Johne's disease and reduction of faecal Mycobacterium paratuberculosis shedding in sheep.
    • Active immunisation as an aid in the control of Johne's disease in goats.
    • It’s strongly recommended to use the Gudair Sekurus® 1mL Safety vaccinator when administering Gudair and use a 6mm, ¼ inch needle.

    • Its safety features reduce the risk of accidental self-injection.

     

    THE ZOETIS ADVANTAGE

    Gudair is a highly effective tool to prevent and control Ovine Johne’s disease

    • A single 1mL Gudair dose is effective for life.
    • Gudair will decrease OJD shedding by more than 90% in high disease sheep flocks.
    • Gudair will decrease OJD mortalities by greater than 90% in high disease sheep flocks.
    • Gudair delays shedding and onset of clinical signs by more than 12 months.
    • Vaccinate lambs at 4-16 weeks of age will be classified as an ‘Approved Vaccinate’.
    • Safe for use in older sheep and during all stages of pregnancy.

    DOSAGE

    Dose rate: Single 1 mL for sheep and goats.

    It’s strongly recommended to use the Gudair Sekurus®  1ml Safety vaccinator when administering Gudair as it is a reactive, oil based vaccine.
    • The Gudair Sekurus 1mL Safety vaccinator has a protective shroud and a two-stage locking mechanism to reduce self-administration risk.
    • Its safety features reduce the risk of accidental self-injection. Ask your retailer for more information on the Gudair Sekurus 1mL Safety vaccinator
    • Gently agitate before use and keep thoroughly mixed during use.

     
    Injection site:
    • GUDAIR® vaccine should be administered subcutaneously using a GUDAIR Safety Vaccinator and a 6mm (¼ inch) 18 gauge needle on a 45mm degree angle on the side of the neck midway between the ear and the front of the shoulder.
    •  Do not inject at any other site.
    • Ensure animals are adequately restrained in an appropriate sheep handling device (e.g. lambs in a cradle) during the injection process.
    • Ensure that the vaccine does not enter your body (self-injection, needle scratch, etc).
    • Unscrew the delivery tube from the vaccine pack after use by following the directions below
    Directions for Resealing Gudair
    A partially used pack can be stored and used for up to 30 days after first opening of the following steps are taken:
    1. Unscrew the delivery tube from the vaccine pack.
    2. Empty the deilvery tub and vaccinator by depressing the plunger several times
    3. Disinfect the stopper with Methylated spirits
    4. Store the vaccine in the original cardboard carton and place in the refrigerator  (2oC-8oC) DO NOT FREEZE
    5. Use the remaining vacine within 30 days
    6. Clean the delivery tube and draw off cap and sterilise by boiling water for  10 minutes
    7. Before reuse, disinfect the stopper with Methylated spirits 

     

    Applicator Recommendations 

    • Clean and maintain the vaccinator as outlined by the manufacturer daily.
    • DO NOT use disinfectants at the site of vaccination or to clean the vaccinator or needle.
    • Ensure the needle is sharp and not burred, replace often.
    • This product must be injected ONLY under the skin
    • Further vaccine (booster) doses are not required. 

    PACK SIZE

    Plastic packs: 100 mL, 250 mL.

    STORAGE

    Store at 2°C to 8°C (Refrigerate. Do not freeze.) Protect from light.
     
    Gudair can be stored and used for up to 30 days after first opening if the following steps are taken:
     
    DO NOT leave vaccine in the draw off tube or vaccinator after work day.

We use live quote system powered by Australia Post; this guarantees you pay the lowest shipping fee. 

How do I qualify for Free Delivery?

Discount Pet Meds offers Free Standard Shipping on orders over $149 Australia wide for parcels up to 500g. Orders over $149 and over 500g will receive a discount of $6.95 on total shipping cost which will is automatically applied during checkout.

Which shipping should I select?

Discount Pet Meds uses Australia Post as their courier partner, with two shipping options to select from at checkout:

  Express Post        the fastest choice 

  Standard Post     the most economical  (normally 2 days behind express post)

Please note: Australia Post has a weight limit of 22kg per parcel. If your order weighs over 22Kgs we recommend placing multiple orders or contact us to arrange for a courier

How long will it take to process my order?

Discount Pet Meds guarantee same day dispatch if your order is in-stock and has been placed before 11am weekday. In- stock items ordered after 11am, will be dispatched next business day. 

Compounding Meds: Please allow extra 2 business days (eye drops: 5 business days)

How long will it take to receive my parcel?

In addition to processing and dispatch time at the warehouse (24-48 hrs), Delivery time will depend on where you are, in relation to our warehouse as we are based in Carlingford, Sydney, NSW.

Do I need to stay home to receive my parcel?

All parcels will be delivered to the provided address and will require a signature on receipt, It is recommended to provide a work address for delivery if no one is home during business hours. If no one home, a card will be left detailing the nearest Australia Post outlet where the parcel can be collected during normal business hours.

Authority to Leave (ATL): Although we do not recommend leaving orders unattended when not home to accept delivery, you may request this service with any delivery. You may do this by placing a brief note, such as Please leave order if not home', in the order comments section found on our checkout page.

Australia Post (Safe Drop): Tracking notifications now provide you the possibility of Safe Drop where the order will be left in the Safe Drop location specified unless, in the judgement of the carrier, it is exposed to passers-by or the weather, in which the parcel will be carded for a Post Office collection

What if my order got delayed, lost, stolen or damaged?

Shipping insurance will allow you to be compensated in case of lost, damaged, or delayed delivery. If shipping insurance is not chosen, we will not be able to offer any further assistance if your order is lost or subsequently goes missing after it has been deemed delivered by the carrier. The associated risk in leaving parcels unattended is borne by the customer.

Refrigerated items: when you purchace a cold chain product, you accept the rare chance that goods will not be delivered in an ideal condition and that no compensation will be offered to replace spoilt goods, even if insurance cover is chosen.

How do you ship refrigerated items? 

Fridge items are sent out Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only, by    Express Post   in foam eskies containing ice Blocks, to ensure items remain cold on delivery. Please refer to the below link to see if you are within the Australia Post Express Network:

How do I track my order? 

With email and SMS tracking notifications, you will get peace of mind to track and choose delivery options. You will be given a tracking number and the date your parcel is expected to be delivered, as well as the chance to choose how and where you like to receive it.

What if I want to Pick up my order?

Pick up is available from our store. Please select “Pickup option" at the checkout. We will contact you once your order has been assembled and is ready for collection.

Can I refund medication after collection? 

We can dispose your unwanted medication, but we can’t refund it. Once a prescription item leaves our pharmacy, by law they cannot be resold. As such, refunds are not possible.
