What is Bravecto 1-Month?

Bravecto 1-Month is a soft chew that is given every month. Bravecto 1-Month kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the treatment and control of tick infestations [Ixodes scapularis (black-legged tick), Dermacentor variabilis (American Dog Tick) and Rhipicephalus sanguineus (brown dog tick)] for one month in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older, and weighing 2kgs or greater. The active ingredient in Bravecto 1-Month is fluralaner. Fluralaner works on the nervous system of fleas and ticks, causing hyperexcitation and death.

How is it given?

Bravecto 1-Month is a soft chew that is given orally as a single dose Monthly. Bravecto 1-month should be given with food.

What results can I expect?

Bravecto 1-Month kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the treatment and control of tick infestations (deer tick, black-legged tick, American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 1 month. Bravecto 1-Month also kills lone star ticks for 1 Month. Treatment with Bravecto 1-Month may begin at any time of the year. In areas where fleas are common year-round, treatment should continue the entire year without interruption. To minimize the likelihood of flea re-infestation, it is important to treat all animals within the household (along with the environment) with an approved flea product.

What should I discuss with my veterinarian while considering Bravecto 1-Month?

If fleas or ticks are already present, discuss what other control measures should be used. Talk about what flea products to use on any other pets in the household, since all pets should be treated if there is an infestation. Have your veterinarian explain the life cycle of the flea and how that influences the effectiveness of flea products. As with any medication, notify your veterinarian of any other medications or supplements your pet is taking, and also if your pet has had any reactions to previous medications or supplements.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, contact your veterinarian for advice on when to give the next dose.

What is the most important information I should know?

Bravecto 1-Month is only for dogs. Do not use in dogs less than 8 weeks of age or less than 2kgs of body weight. Do not use in cats. Bravecto 1-Month should only be given to the animal for whom it was prescribed.

Who should not take it?

Not for use in animals hypersensitive (allergic) to fluralaner.

What side effects may be seen when taking Bravecto 1-Month?

May see vomiting or diarrhea. Consult your veterinarian if you notice either of these side effects. If your pet experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, signs may include facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma. If you observe any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately.

How is it stored?

Store at or below 30 degrees Celcius. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

What should I do if I know of or suspect there has been an overdose?

If you know or suspect your pet has had an overdose, or if you observe any of the side effects in your pet, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Which shipping should I select?

Discount Pet Meds uses Australia Post as their courier partner, with two shipping options to select from at checkout:

  Express Post        the fastest choice 

  Standard Post     the most economical  (normally 2 days behind express post)

Please note: Australia Post has a weight limit of 22kg per parcel. If your order weighs over 22Kgs we recommend placing multiple orders or contact us to arrange for a courier

How long will it take to process my order?

Discount Pet Meds guarantee same day dispatch if your order is in-stock and has been placed before 11am weekday. In- stock items ordered after 11am, will be dispatched next business day.

Do I need to stay home to receive my parcel?

All parcels will be delivered to the provided address and will require a signature on receipt, It is recommended to provide a work address for delivery if no one is home during business hours. If no one home, a card will be left detailing the nearest Australia Post outlet where the parcel can be collected during normal business hours.

Authority to Leave (ATL): Although we do not recommend leaving orders unattended when not home to accept delivery, you may request this service with any delivery. You may do this by placing a brief note, such as Please leave order if not home', in the order comments section found on our checkout page.

Australia Post (Safe Drop): Tracking notifications now provide you the possibility of Safe Drop where the order will be left in the Safe Drop location specified unless, in the judgement of the carrier, it is exposed to passers-by or the weather, in which the parcel will be carded for a Post Office collection

What if my order got delayed, lost, stolen or damaged?

Shipping insurance will allow you to be compensated in case of lost, damaged, or delayed delivery. If shipping insurance is not chosen, we will not be able to offer any further assistance if your order is lost or subsequently goes missing after it has been deemed delivered by the carrier. The associated risk in leaving parcels unattended is borne by the customer.

Refrigerated items: when you purchace a cold chain product, you accept the rare chance that goods will not be delivered in an ideal condition and that no compensation will be offered to replace spoilt goods, even if insurance cover is chosen.

How do you ship refrigerated items?

How do I track my order? 

With email and SMS tracking notifications, you will get peace of mind to track and choose delivery options. You will be given a tracking number and the date your parcel is expected to be delivered, as well as the chance to choose how and where you like to receive it.

What if I want to Pick up my order?

Pick up is available from our store. Please select “Pickup option" at the checkout. We will contact you once your order has been assembled and is ready for collection.

Can I refund medication after collection? 

We can dispose your unwanted medication, but we can’t refund it. Once a prescription item leaves our pharmacy, by law they cannot be resold. As such, refunds are not possible.
