Meloxicam 20mg Paste is a prescription-only non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) formulated for veterinary use, commonly used in horses under veterinary direction to manage pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions.
Use only as directed by your veterinarian. Your vet will determine an appropriate dose and duration based on the animal’s weight, condition, and clinical response. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or duration. If you miss a dose, ask your vet for advice before administering extra.
It’s a veterinary NSAID prescribed by vets to help manage pain and inflammation in horses, typically for musculoskeletal conditions. Always follow your vet’s directions.
Yes. Meloxicam paste is a Schedule 4 (S4) Prescription Animal Remedy. We must receive a valid Australian veterinary prescription before dispensing.
This listing is for Meloxicam 20 mg/mL oral paste in a 230 mL pack.
Your veterinarian calculates dose by the animal’s weight, condition, and response. Do not adjust your horse’s dose without veterinary advice.
Do not combine with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids unless advised by your vet. Combining anti-inflammatories can increase the risk of side effects.
Possible adverse effects may include reduced appetite, gastrointestinal upset (e.g., soft stools), or rare ulceration. Stop treatment and contact your vet if you notice concerning signs (colic, tarry stools, lethargy, etc.).
Many horses show improvement within the vet-directed treatment window, but onset and response vary by condition and individual.
Rules vary by jurisdiction and code. Check current regulations and ask your vet for advice on appropriate withholding times before competition.
Store below 25 °C in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep the cap securely closed and out of reach of children.
Use only if your veterinarian determines the benefits outweigh risks. Always inform your vet if the horse is pregnant or lactating.
Contact your vet for tailored advice. Do not double-dose unless your vet instructs you to do so.
Only under veterinary supervision. Your vet may schedule periodic checks to monitor efficacy and safety.
No. Both are NSAIDs but have different active ingredients and profiles. Your vet will recommend the most appropriate option for your horse.
Only use in the species and for the indication prescribed by your veterinarian. Do not administer to other animals unless your vet specifically directs.
Contact your vet. They’ll advise whether to redose or adjust timing to maintain safe, effective therapy.
Yes, potential interactions exist (e.g., other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, certain ulcer medications). Provide your vet a full list of all treatments and supplements.
