Manufacturer: Dechra Veterinary Products

Product Description:

Flusapex Drops 100mL is a potent oral diuretic used to treat fluid retention (oedema) associated with congestive heart failure, pulmonary oedema, kidney disease, and liver conditions in cats and dogs. Each millilitre contains 10mg of frusemide, a loop diuretic that increases urine output by acting on the kidneys to reduce excess fluid in the body. Its dropper formulation allows for accurate dosing in small animals or those requiring low-volume medication.

Key Features:

  • Contains 10mg/mL of frusemide – a fast-acting loop diuretic
  • Used to manage fluid retention in dogs and cats
  • Ideal for treating pulmonary oedema, congestive heart failure, and renal disease
  • Oral liquid allows precise and adjustable dosing
  • Easy-to-use dropper bottle for small pets or difficult dosers
  • Prescription medication – must be used under veterinary supervision
  • Made in Australia and APVMA registered

Directions for Use:

Use only as directed by your veterinarian. A typical starting dose is 0.5 to 2 mg/kg orally every 12–24 hours, depending on the condition being treated. Dose may be adjusted based on clinical response and regular veterinary monitoring of electrolytes and kidney function. Always provide access to fresh water during treatment.

Precautions:

  • Do not use in dehydrated animals or those with severe electrolyte imbalances
  • Use with caution in diabetic or hypotensive patients
  • Prolonged use may require potassium supplementation
  • Regular blood tests are required to monitor renal and electrolyte status
  • Not for use in animals intended for human consumption

Frusemide (also called furosemide) at a concentration of 10mg per mL.

Yes, but giving it with food can help reduce stomach upset. Follow your vet’s advice.

  7. How long does the effect of Flusapex last?
Its effect usually lasts 6–8 hours, depending on the pet’s metabolism and kidney function.
